About
A little about me
Data scientist by trade, generalist by temperament — happiest turning an ambiguous question into something measurable.
I'm Joel Mwaka, a data scientist who cares as much about the question as the model. Most of my work lives in the space between a fuzzy business problem and a decision someone actually has to make — where the hard part is rarely the algorithm.
I like clean baselines, honest evaluation, and code that someone else can read six months later. When a project is done, I try to write down what I learned — which is how this site's notes and blog came to exist.
Away from the screen you'll find me reading more papers than I can reasonably finish and slowly getting better at explaining them simply.
